Effective October 15, 2026
The short version
- Mysli has no accounts and no servers of its own. We can’t see anything you put in it.
- Your thoughts, plans and goals are stored on your device.
- If you have Mysli Plus and turn on iCloud sync, they also sync through your own private iCloud account, which only you can access.
- There are no ads, no analytics or crash-reporting tools, no tracking, and no AI processing of what you write.
This policy explains what happens to information in the Mysli app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch (“Mysli”) and on this website. Mysli is made by Brilliantship (“we”, “us”).
What Mysli stores on your device
Mysli keeps the content you create so the app can work:
- thoughts you capture, including any notes you add and how they were captured (typed, voice, Apple Watch, Siri or shared from another app);
- plans and their next actions, weekly commitments, items you pick for Today, and 12-week goals;
- weekly and cycle reviews, daily intentions and reflections;
- settings such as reminder times and whether iCloud sync is on.
This information is stored in Mysli’s private storage on your device. To show widgets, Mysli also shares a small summary with its widgets on the same device: your inbox count, the titles of a few of your oldest inbox items, and today’s intention and shortlist. When you share text or a link into Mysli from another app, it is held on your device until Mysli files it into your Inbox.
If Mysli ever can’t open its data, it keeps a backup copy in its storage on your device so nothing is lost.
iCloud sync (Mysli Plus)
If you subscribe to Mysli Plus and the “Sync with iCloud” setting is on, Mysli syncs the content above between your devices using Apple’s CloudKit. It is stored in the private database of your own iCloud account. We, as the developer, have no access to it. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
You can turn sync off in Mysli’s account settings at any time. Content already in iCloud stays in your iCloud account. Deleting items in Mysli while sync is on also removes them from iCloud, and you can manage the iCloud storage Mysli uses from your device’s iCloud settings.
Voice capture
Mysli asks for access to the microphone and speech recognition so you can dictate thoughts. They are used only while you are dictating. Mysli doesn’t record or keep audio; it keeps only the resulting text.
When your device supports on-device speech recognition for your language, transcription happens entirely on your device. Otherwise, Apple’s speech recognition service processes the audio to produce the text, under Apple’s privacy policy. On Apple Watch, Mysli uses watchOS’s built-in dictation and handwriting input.
Siri, Shortcuts and widgets
If you capture a thought with Siri or the Shortcuts app, your request is handled by Apple as part of Siri and the text is saved to your Inbox in Mysli. Widgets and controls show and update information from Mysli on your device.
Apple Watch
Thoughts you capture on Apple Watch are sent directly to Mysli on your paired iPhone using Apple’s Watch Connectivity and saved to your Inbox. The Watch app keeps your eight most recent captures so you can see what you sent.
Reminders
Daily and inbox reminders are scheduled on your device; there is no push server. A reminder can include today’s intention, items from your shortlist or your oldest inbox thought, and may appear on your Lock Screen. You can turn reminders off in Mysli or change how notifications appear in your device’s Settings.
Purchases
Mysli Plus is sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. Mysli checks your subscription status on your device using Apple’s StoreKit.
Apple gives us standard App Store sales reports and, if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, aggregated usage statistics. These don’t include anything you put in Mysli.
What we don’t do
- We don’t ask you to create an account or sign in.
- We don’t include advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or other third-party SDKs.
- We don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We don’t send what you write to any AI service.
- We don’t sell, rent or share personal information.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual thoughts, goals and commitments in the app. Deleting Mysli from a device removes all the data it stored on that device. Content synced to iCloud can be removed as described in the iCloud sync section above. Because we don’t hold your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side, but we’re happy to help if you have questions.
This website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking. It is hosted by Amazon Web Services, which processes standard request information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages, and may keep it briefly in server logs for security and reliability.
Contacting us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we don’t keep them longer than we need to.
Children
Mysli isn’t directed at children under 13. Since we don’t collect personal information through the app, we don’t knowingly collect it from children.
Changes to this policy
If Mysli’s handling of information changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
